You can find direct trains to any of the station from many of the major cities in India.The Best way to reach Durgapur is to reach Howrah first from any part of India.There are lot of trains available from Howrah to Durgapur. It will take approximately 3 hours. After Reaching Howrah you can also take bus from Esplanade.

 

By Air

Durgapur is also connected with NSCBI Airport, Kolkata by Road. Approximate driving distance between NIT Durgapur and NSCBI Airport, Kolkata is 176 kms. It takes 3 hours to travel from Kolkata Airport to NIT Durgapur by road. After Reaching to Kolkata you can take Bus from Karunamoyee or Esplanade to Durgapur. You can also take a train from Howrah to reach Durgapur.
